Renovation of a single-family home
After demolishing all the partitions, removing the kitchen and the existing furniture, we were able to redistribute the whole thing. In order to unify and extend the spaces, we laid an oak parquet floor on the entire floor. The color, slightly honeyed, allows the enhancement of all the furniture that we have designed and made to measure in melamine then lacquered in pure white in the cabin.
The first kitchen cabinet, in which the dishwasher is inserted invisibly and the sink, has an oak top and a cement tile backsplash. The second kitchen cabinet, also with an oak top, is inserted under the existing staircase, the hood, also hidden under the stairs, is covered with an oak cladding identical to the cupboards. The credenza and the underside of the staircase are tiled with small black tiles. The refrigerator, the freezer and the wardrobe are fully integrated into the cupboards, which when closed do not suggest their function.
We then chose the new colors of the walls in shades of blue, repainted and varnished the old fir staircases so that they could be integrated at a lower cost into the whole project. In order to preserve privacy from the street while providing maximum natural light, white blinds have been installed on the windows, as well as a translucent film on the glass door of the entrance. The diaphanous space is continuous from the entrance, and only the design of the furniture characterizes the different functions of the spaces.
